That's a no-go operation buddy, CDRW and DVDRW both use a different composition of materials that allow you to modify their physical property with light emission, it can indeed be reverted back to its original neutral state and be "written" again, up to a certain amount of times, as with any rewritable medium.
That is also one of the reasons why rewritable optical mediums are much more expensive.
