I used to be able to navigate from cell to cell in Excel with the arrow keys. Now the arrow keys don't move me from cell to cell–they move the spreadsheet up, down, or sideways, but the active cell remains the same. What has happened here, and how do I fix it?
Answer:
This will happen if you have the Scroll Lock feature of your keyboard on. You probably have some indicator lights on your keyboard for Num Lock, Caps Lock, and Scroll Lock. If the Scroll Lock light is lit up, then press the Scroll Lock key to turn it off. This will cause the cursor to move as you expect it to do.
