When i turn on the computer all it shows is my background. All the icons are gone as well as the bar along the bottom. How do i get them to return? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you don't have a Windows button, Hit Ctrl Alt Del and get to the task manager.
On the task manager window, click “File” and click “New Task”.
Then type Explorer.exe in the space given

Hit the windows key (next to ctrl) r, and it should bring up a run dialog.
type in explorer.exe and hit enter
