Windows Vista ReadyBoost Question..?

I have a 4gb turbo micro memory card, with a USB plug for it. I use it for storing files though. If I delete the files, and use the card and ReadyBoost how much will it speed up my personal? If I want to unplug the memory card and use it for storage will it work again (mainly game storage for my Nintendo DS)? Will it hurt my personal if I do this?

ReadyBoost will make your personal slightly faster. It's often suggested for computers that don't have much RAM but the user wants to experience a slight boost in speed. I'd say go for it. You can always unplug it, reformat it and use it for whatever else you'd like.

You wont see much of a difference in speed with ReadyBoost. Think about it, the physical location of RAM is right on the motherboard next to the CPU. The speed in which these things run is in microseconds or nanoseconds, USB drive speeds are measured in milliseconds and sometimes just seconds. You won't notice any, if all, speed boast on your computer.

If you already have 2gb or more of RAM the effect from readyboost will be less than if you were running it on a machine with 512mb or 1gb. I've tried it on a machine with 512mb, 1gb and 2gb. The first showed an improvement, the second a slight improvement and the 2gb machine showed no noticeable difference.
