PLEASE HELP ME!!!! My laptop was recently infected with a flash10.exe virus, and now, after getting rid of it, all microsoft office files are taking ages to load because microsoft word/excel does a virus scan which takes forever. It's taking upto 1 whole minute just to open a file.

Please help me!!What should I do??

Answer:
This is because, all the exe files in Microsoft Office still are infected with the jambanmu [flash10.exe] virus; which unfortunately since last year, Kaspersky, Panda, or AVG Antivirus software detects but can’t yet clean. It only quarantines it, and the obvious links [dll, shortcuts, etc] to Microsoft Office executables still points to the quarantined files.

Here's a link to totally clean jambanmu virus, apparently a Brontok variant, http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2008…

Also, you might be better off, if you repair your MS Office installation from a CD, so that fresh *.exe and *.dll files would replace all those quarantined, or “cleaned” by your anti-virus application.

Answer:
Option 1:

Scan all your Computer using Kaspersky Internet Security , then run Disk Cleanup and then, disk defragmentor…..Finally, restart your Computer and check if it worked.

Option2:

Run System Restore fron System Tools and restore your system to earlier date before you got infected then after it completes, check if it worked.
