What are the software that can do this?
Answer:
I think you can use VideoLAN-VLC player or Media Player Classic to view your subtitles as your dvd plays, i have used it to a play an avi file and displayed the titles.
With Media Player Classic got to the play menu and you'll find subtitles.
Answer:
You can't.
Your own subtitles are kind of text files and can be used with divx/xvid videos.
Original dvds have integrated subtitles absolutely different, they’re not text files.
