im just curious but how does a personal virus come out about and then end up costing you everythin in the end?

Answer:
Viruses are written by people. I won't state programmers as this is no longer necessarily the case, as script kiddies can get programs that do most of the work for them.

As an intellectual exercise people would write a virus to see how small they could make it, and generally it would do something slightly annoying like flasj a message on your screen on a certain day. As with all things this has changed to become more malicious and viruses now do anything from a message to deleting files to locking out Windows.

In some cases a virus is written for testing purposes in a shut environment, but then is accidentally, or in the case of script kiddies deliberately, released into the wild where it then distributes to any and all computers it can. Some of the worst damage causing viruses include the I Love You virus which was sent via email. Of course when it first got released, everyone opened the email, which then caused the virus to run. Part of the payload was to email everyone in the persons address book which meant it spread very rapidly.

Generally viruses are not a problem if you’ve anti virus software, but new versions can cause problems in the first few days before a bloack can be created, or if you don't keep your anti virus software up to date

Answer:
A “virus” is a personal program written by a bored nerd who has too much time on his hands.

Evil software does not create itself; it was written by someone somewhere who is deliberately trying to wreck other people's personal as a prank.

What a virus does to your computer depends on the programmer who wrote it. Usually it tells the personal to do something like erase all data or crash a head driver into the hard disk.

Answer:
Some idiots will try to make viruses and put them inside of programs, so when you open the program or download it, it will go inside your computer and mess up everything. So then you’ve to buy virus programs that help to fight these viruses, and if you waited until you got the virus to purchase the program, your computer may be dead.

hi kittycat, i was wondering the same thing so i started studying on the subject so this is the best way i can explain it just like they did to me. a guy from another country or anywhere decided to play a joke on other people so he made a page like i love you or something that ya might think that someone has e-mailed you a friend but it is far from a friend cause he gave you a virus that went into your harddrive and it corrupted your system. your system is kept on C:\ driver in your computer. so now nothing seems to run right and the more you try to mend it the more it causes your pc to quit working now if you can format your harddrive this will remove it but if you can't you have to take it down to a personal repairman and he’ll format it for you but you lost all your files so by all means keep your computer virus protection up to date. hope i answered your question good luck.

Answer:
well, if yu click something where yu weren't supposed to, then a bad thing goes into yur computer and starts messing it up. like deleting files, changing passwords, and saving everything yu saved on yur computer like passwords. And it has total control of it.

If yur confused, it's like. When it's winter, and someone goes jogging in shorts and a tank-top. their bodies get cold and begin catching something. then, Their sick.

Hope i helped ;]

Answer:
It doesn't have to. The ideal way to avoid them is to get some decent Anti-virus software (AVG is good) and to scan every thing you’ve downloaded before opening them. Also, try using an email site (hotmail, yahoo etc etc) rather importing them via outlook express etc. Simple!! And stop looking at porn!!!!

Answer:
It comes about when Norton sees their profits slipping, so they release a few hundred viruses into the wild and shortly thereafter a solution in the form of an update.

Answer:
there designed by these pratts who enjoy mass distruction like the 'I Love You' email virus in 2000 when they had to shut the emailing service to get the problem sorted…it even blocked cell phones
