there are a lot of complaints about office 2008 for MAC. Wouldn't it be better to use iWork if it provides the same features as an office programme? my question is for people who have used office 2008 and iWork on their MACs. which would you say is better?
Answer:
I have both Microsoft Office and iWork on my Mac. I hardly ever open up Office. iWork has everything I need and grants me to incorporate a superior design and page layout.
I use Pages and Keynote every week to present lessons to kids at church. I add graphics and overall design in Pages, and embed Video clips into Keynote. When presenting, I’ve my Mac in dual-display mode, and Keynote displays the slideshow on the Television, while my screen shows what slide is coming up next, along with notes.
Sure, you can do some of the same things with Office, but with iWork, it's a lot easier. In fact, the way the app is designed, it encourages stuff like that.
iWork apps also open up a lot faster, so when I need something swift, those apps are always ready to go.
P.S. — You can import and export word, excel, and powerpoint documents with iWork. So if someone sends you a word document, you can view it, edit it, and send it back to them.
