An acquaintance asked me for some older software. MS programs and some others. Is it legal to give it to them as long as I give them all the original stuff and keep no copies and don't keep it on my computer? Or does this vary case by case depending on the license, etc.?

Answer:
I don't see why not. You giving him, or selling him, all the software with the CDs, so they are no longer on any computer you have and he has the original stuff so it's all right.

Answer:
seriously, the police arent going to chase you up unless you are using it for profitable reasons, like a company

Answer:
I think that would be fine especially if you are no longer using the software you are giving them.

You aren't selling them for profit, and you are not making illegal copies and giving them away, so I would think it would be fine.

Answer:
Sure Why Not.

Answer:
omg ..dont worry about it ..you gave them old stuff ..you own it ..you can give it to who you chose …then they are at fault if they screw up …not you
