Vista sucks.
It is slower, it takes up more harddrive space then XP, has lots of bugs, freezes a lot, and is more or less a waste of money.
Stick with the XP, or you could do what I'm thinking about - go Mac.

on a good PC there's not much difference, I dual boot with both so can say that xp is a bit quicker, but vista is prettier.

I'd have to buy a new 64bit CPU, which means I'd have to buy new motherboard.
I figure if I'm gonna buy those 2 peices of hardware, I might aswell go all out and buy everything else brand new too.

I like vista - I haven't experienced any bugs but as with all new software it is possible it will come with some… Although it has been out for a while so…
Lots of people say they prefer XP just because that's what they are used to and that's what they know.. Yes, stuff is a Little different and it can be frustrating and confusing at first (I remember having a tanty and wanting my XP back straight up)
However after using it for a few months now I do find it to be better, its a better layout and it works and its smooth… I don't know much about software but I feel that all those who are saying XP is better simply don't know much about software either and don't like change or are frustrated by it…. Fair enough I suppose, but I don't think its a very objective opinion of it….
Whether it is worth the money to change over or not, that's another matter… I don't remember how much it was but I suppose that part is up to you to decide…. Do you have a friend who has it? Maybe you can go over and check it out…
