Well the best I can tell a .kos file is a MicroType Pro Document which is linked to http://www.fscreations.com/ this company.

Which doesn't tell us much.

Some common ways are to simply try to open the file in notepad. You could use a web site like http://www.youconvertit.com/ . Or you could print it to a .PDF file, with a PDF printer like http://www.acrosoftware.com/Products/Cut… which would give you a portable non-editable file, that you could share with anyone.
