yea…this dude wants to hack my msn and he told my friend how he can do it…he says that he will use the computer that his family quirked so that nobody can trace into it's ip or something and that he will use proxies to get in, then look at the servers and find my name, look at my password, then erase his log into the server and kill the connection. he will then know my password and do anything he wants. he says he can't be traced because he will "bounce" and that they will run a log in check at him every 5 seconds so he will bounce to increase the time it takes to track him. he's from scotland i believe and says that he's hacked sites before.
anyways, i think he was trying to impress my friend and that's why he shelled out the info, and old her that he will teach her one day.
so i just want to know…what the hell? can he do it? how can i stop it? he also hates me and wants to burn the street i live in and myself…i'm scared T^T
Answer:
Anything is always possible. As a previous person said, he can bounce all he wants, it doesnt make him untraceable.
The FBI in the USA takes cyber threats, harassment & crimes extremely seriously. If they want to find you - they will. They have whole departments dedicated to to cyber crimes/theft (piracy of software)/harrassment, etc. If you feel threatened (you said you were scared) tell your parents, or go to the police and file a report. Save documentation showing the threats he has made against you or anyone else close to you (family/friends).
Chances are he's some 12 yr old punk who is trying to just scare you - a bully & like you said trying to impress your other friend with his so called knowledge. Ignore him. But do tell your parents & or the police about his threats. Even if they seem harmless you will want to have a police report on file.
Answer:
Don't be scared. This dude sounds like a punk. Technically he could do all that bouncing around, but it's not untraceable. Just hard to trace. Anyway, tell him if he doesn't stop threatening you, you'll report his *** to the FBI. The FBI takes cyber crime seriously even when it's only for mischief.
Answer:
As long as you use a very secure password (no dictionary words, minimum of 8 digits, including numbers, lower and upper case letters and symbols) then I doubt he can do it.
