i made my user account 5 mnths back and now i forgot the password as i was not in touch with my pc and out of the country…….. what shold i do to reset the password? do i have to change my hard disk or what? please guide

hell no, u culd simply, when ur pc starts keep pressin F8
a screen will appear with some options, choose 'Safe Mode' ur pc will load
wen ur at de account area choose Administrator to login.
once in, go to control panel, choose 'user accounts', nd den click on the account which u hav forgoten de password, den click on remove password.
restart ur pc, dont press F8 agen since u wont need it,
den login with the account u made, and ur in
u culd create a new password, but dont forget it aite:P

You have to get something like Winternals, it allows you to change it.

Restart your PC, but hold down the F8 key (I assume you're using XP). Select "Safe Mode with Networking" (the normal "Safe Mode" is OK, too). Then choose the Administrator account and try to go from there. If nothing else, you will need to create another admin account.
