Answer:
McAfee total protection 2009 is one of the best on the market

Answer:
I use and advocate Avast.

The free version now includes antispyware and rootkit detection and it can be set to do a boot-time scan. And unlike Avira, Avast can be depended on to auto-update itself without fail.

IMO Avast is the best all-around free Antivirus.

Edit / Comment on the above answer: I never click the update notice… it goes away in less than a minute!

Answer:
I have used AVG myself, and I have to concur, I don't like it either, it scans pretty well, but if you’re lazy about your scans, you may not have very much protection

Don't go for the services you’ve to pay for, the problem with those, is if you didn't have enough to pay them, and you didn't pay for the service, they would be as helpful as not even having them, and do you really want to pay monthly/yearly for protection when you can get comparible protection for free?

I prefer Avast, everybody i have offered Avast to love it, and just like me, they trust it more than Norton and other Antivirus programs, you do have to update with a new key yearly, but you just go to their site, regester for a new code (all free), then when they send you an email with your new code, just copy/pase it where it goes and you’ve protection, and it updates on it's own, and has resident shield protection

Answer:
i use Avast! Antivirus for both my XP and Vista…it works great, so far (i have had my XP computer for 7 years) and no viruses. it stopped and caught all of them, and informs you. the only downside is the constant updates. Avast will pop up on the corner of your screen, and wont leave until you click it. but its quiet worth it, i find it a very good Antivirus.

Answer:
I’ve Norton 360. It works really well at finding those hidden things that some other antiiviruses might skim over.
