my documents?

Answer:
A good hacker can do anything with your personal. They have the ability to track and log which keys you press, find all your passwords, they have the ability to delete/edit/create files - basically they have the ability to do anything you can do when you sit at the computer - and more. They can flip your screen upside down, delete windows so it wont restart, store your credit card details, log which sites you visit - anything.

The key is to keep secure, which means being careful what you download/open on your personal, and installing a good anti-virus program.

There are some free security software programs, such as Zone Alarm, but they are free for a reason - they aren't kept as up to date.

If you want the best in security online, I would advocate McAffee (http://www.mcafee.com/uk/) - It costs but it is VERY secure. If you use Windows Vista you can also scan all your files with Windows Defender.

If you’re using Internet Explorer to browse the web, there is also a more secure substitute. It is called Mozilla Firefox. You can download it for free from http://www.mozilla.com - It does everything Internet Explorer does but it is MUCH more secure.

If you use MSN Messenger, you can download an automatic anti-virus scanner from within MSN - it will check all files that you receive to make sure they don't contain any viruses.

For local access:

Yes. They don't need to peek at what you're writing, but they have the ability to access your 'My Documents' folder. If they know the administrator account password, then they have the ability to just log in and access anyone's files.

From remote access:

If a malicious program has gotten onto your personal, it could install a 'rootkit.' The term, “root” comes from Unix and is the name of the administrator. Rootkits are programs which take advantage of an operating system's vulnerabilities to access your system as the 'root user' or administrator.

Purchase a USB flash drive or external hard drive and save your data there. It's the ideal way to keep your files safe.

Answer:
If you've saved the document then yes, they have the ability to view, edit, delete and publish anything you have on you're personal. If you have decent security you should be OK though (No Offense) but I doubt you’ve anything that important that someone would manually hack you.

I advise you to get

Zone Alarm firewall http://www.zonealarm.com/store/content/h…

AVG Anti Virus and Anti Spyware.

Yes, as soon as you don't have a decent firewall which stops attacks and a decent Antiviruses that stops you from being infected with servers.
