I had a HELL of a time getting rid of Norton on my computer. The virus definitions took up 50% of my memory. My Mom has norton, her system runs slow just like mine did until I got rid of it. Can I just delete the definitions file? Will it still protect from incoming threats? Or does the damn program have to take up 50% 0f your memory to work?
Answer:
Use the Norton Removal tool. You can get it at http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsg…
This will remove anything with the name Norton or Symantic attached to it.

You’re so right about Norton… If you have Windows, Windows Live OneCare security is great! You can download a three month free trial, and after that it's $49.95 a year. It will get rid of Norton while you're downloading it. You can get the free trial here… http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/defau…
