When I go to get on line it will bring me to a different website than the one I type in does this mean I have a virus if so how do I get rid of it?
Answer:
It means you have a trojan or bot.
Go to microsoft and download their malicious software removal tool. It will only work on XP or later, it's free.
Also, if you do not have virus protection, get it NOW!!
There are other cleaners out there, one is CCleaner, it's free and can be gotten at http://www.filehippo.com
I use it all the time.
Keep in mind, even legit sites often install software on your computer that you did not authorize, except in the terms of use, which no one reads.
Be net savvy, keep your virus software up to date and if you're smart, you won't install any games, downloaded software, music files, ect without scanning it first.

This could prolly mean you typed the address(URL) in wrong. For instance. Say I wanted to go to American Idol website. I typed in Americanidol.org (American Idol isn't an orgization, it is Americanidol.com). Someone cleavery bought the doman name Americanidol.org, knowing that American Idol is popular and someone could make that mistake and type .Org instead of .com. So the person gets people on their site and gets hits(number of times people have visited). Usually, its just junk site, or some type of ad.
If your ever unsure of the url for a site, GOOGLE it. Google will find it the first time. =) I highly doubt it is a virus though.

a quick fix might be to open internet explorer and click on the tools tab and click manage add-ons and remove anything you dont recognize………..
