and I keep a record of all my books on amazon only-I don’t keep another log of my books in excel or anything.
At the moment I have to manually type in the barcode number of each of my books into the amazon book finder thing; and this is so time consuming and tedious.
I am wondering if there’s a faster way that I have the ability to log my books onto amazon, without having to type in each single barcode.
Does anyone know whether or not I could use a barcode scanner instead of manually typing in the barcode number into the amazon seach tool? Is this possible?
Any help will be much appreciated, thank you.

I did exactly the same thing. It's astonishing the time it saved and how much quicker it was.
basically, purchase the wasp Scanner from Maplins. If you’re in the says, just lookup Wasp terminals and scanners.
Basically it can read most types of bar codes found on books, tins etc and simply acts as an extra keyboard device. My one is connected via a dual keyboard connector but no doubt they’re doing USB versions now.
You can set the device up to add a an extra key of Enter so once you have scanned into Amazon, it should immediatley attempt to find your book, then all you need do is confirm if it's the right one.
You will save at least two hours if you’re doing a load of books. you can even begin to build your own stock control system because if you’ve a database of your books, then you can print off a few barcodes and stick these on the boxes to create a box to book list….the possibilities are endless….

Do a search on:
barcode scanner laptop
I just did and this appeared http://www.barcodeman.com/altek/simple/
Looks like there are a lot of them on the market, connect to a USB port.
I used to use a magnetic card scanner that attached to the COM port on a PC ages ago, which we’d to code ourselves. They alternative for keyboard input and are really great for improving accuracy as well as saving time.
