No you dont have any purchase anything once you buy a domain.. you can just keep using the domain you bought and keep adding another page into the ftp.. like you stated equipment.html transfer that file through ftp. You need to have a host that gives you the ftp access, grants you to upload the files. Also you’ve to point the domain you buy to your host so that whenever you upload a file through ftp on your host, lets state.. you uploaded a file through ftp equipment.html, and so when you type in your domain treasurehunter.com it will show you some option and equipment.html will be one of them.
