I tried to do something along those lines myself. Try the site below. It provides private servers from which you can work on (these are Rs private servers created by individuals). I gave up on it because I couldn't get the programs working, but that was just my comp acting up I'm sure.

(keeping up with running a MMORPG takes alot of work and dedication…. i doubt you can do it alone.)

You always need to figure out the language to get anywhere
by the way, I have the goal to make an MMORPG
first you must make sure you want to do it then you will get the inspiration to study it. Then next is actually learning it, first what you do is find the basic tutorials and figure out the basics of the language. Then you can look for more advanced tutorials or you can just start playing with the language. By that I mean you type in a command then see what it does(requires basics and some advanced stuff) that is how I am learning it and that is the funnest (I know it's not a word) way to learn it.
