The easiest way is to:
Find the image for the banner (in your folders) and reaplace it with your own (keep the same file name to make it easier). You can use any graphics editing program such as Photoshop, Corel or Gimp. Just make sure the dimensions are exactly the same as the original and you in business! Good Luck!

Well if you want your own thats completely original then use photoshop, paint shop pro, or even paint. But wordpress allows you to edit the banner provided.
