I got bandwidth limited (temp) for using too much upload.

I fixed that problem.

Now I'm scared I'll use too much download!

But they won't tell me what 'excessive' is.

I called tech support and they basically read me the TOS >_>

Has anyone gotten bandwidth limited for too much downloading on clearwire? If so, you're download stats before limit would be very insightful.

Answer:
I just read Clearwire's TOS. They don't give a clear cut answer as to what the limit actually is. Probably what happened is there were numerous complaints from others in your area that they weren't getting the speed Clearwire advertised. Clearwire then looked to see who the heavy users were in that area and took action. Welcome to the new age of the web. Bandwidth is limited, they can't deliver what they advertise.

“2. Excess Utilization of Network Resources. The excessive use or abuse of Clearwire’s network resources by one subscriber might have a negative impact on all other subscribers. Accordingly, you may not use the Service or take any action, directly or indirectly, that will result in excessive consumption or utilization of the system or network resources, or which may weaken network performance, as determined in Clearwire’s sole discretion. Such prohibited actions include, but are not limited to: using the Service to host a web server site which attracts excessive traffic at your location, continuously uploading or downloading streaming video or audio, usenet hosting, or continuous FTP uploading or downloading.”

I'm guessing you probably stream a lot of video. The internet companies HATE this activity. They can't keep up with the demand for it.
