your not the only one. heaps of people don't get one-or dont want one. Sit them down in front of the computer, and make them read the security section that says that

if you dont want anyone to add you nobody can, you can block or delete, or report anyone you dont know that adds you, and that if you set your profile to private, if someone wants to add you they have to know either your email address or your last name, and you wouldn't give a stranger these details. Make sure they understand how safe myspace is, just dont lie to them

Don't worry, you really aren't the ONLY kid that has parents like that. I think you should just show that your responsible enough, but make a deal with them somehow. Like don't put TOO personal information on there, and make yourself look like a mature, responsible adult. Show them that myspace can help in ways too.. like if you need help with homework, you can send messages to your friends on the network asking if they know how to help you. It's a harmless website, but parents think it's some HUGE sexual predator paradise.
