How can i get back that memory?

Answer:
There's nothing like Worrying.

Actually, Physically your Laptop's RAM amounts to 2048MB but since your OS is showing just 1918MB since these days, certain Video Cards tend to share a part of your Computer's Memory i.e RAM with the Operating System.

In your case, 1918MB of your RAM is being used directly by your OS and balance is being shared between OS & Video Card.

There's nothing to feel robbed. All RAM is being used somewhere or the other.

If you’ve Windows Vista on your Laptop, you must upgrade to SP1 and you'll notice that it shows Physical Memory in Computer's Properties. So, in such a case, you'll see 2048MB RAM and not 1918MB.

Answer:
You’ve not lost any memory some of your ram is set aside for your video card to use. What your seeing is the ram that’s available for windows to use.

Answer:
Without knowing anything at all about your computer, brand, model and so on. I would make a guess, maybe the internal graphics card in your computer steals some of your ram ?

Answer:
You probably have a video card that uses shared memory, so it's using part of the available ram for display.

Answer:
You can't. The OS uses some, and the RAM itself is formatted, so you'll loose some there too.
