I tried to hear some music and nothing happened, I checked the installed hardware description and it shows the drive with a red X. Is there a way to mend it or the drive went bye bye for good?
Answer:
Talking about magnet I want to tell you what I did, I had the impression that magnet will erase data from CD I placed very powerful magnet on top of the CD I kept it for an Hour I put it on the other side of the CD after about another Hour I inserted the CD into the computer and it worked fine, so I think your CD drive is going bad or the CD you’re running is going bad.
Answer:
The magnets didn’t effect the CD drive as it is optical and contains no vital magnetic peices.
Answer:
