It is a thing which grants you to go on the web without having to connect your personal to the telephone socket

Kinda like a mobile world wide web connection

Answer:
You can get a mobile modem which connects wirelessly to your mobile phone, buy them from mobile phone shops. Only available on certain networks or contracts, and costs a small fortune compared to regular landline broadband.

Otherwise you may be thinking of a USB wi-fi dongle, but they're a bit rubbish compared to a proper wi-fi card. Macs all have wireless built-in anyway, including laptops. You will need a wireless router / modem for this to work as a connection to the internet.

Answer:
You mean one of these?

They work as separate mobile/cell phone contracts, and give you 3g connection speeds. They're quite good, my dad has one,and I used it to connect to the web on my desktop when the network was down. They’re plug and play for pc's (ie: they have their drivers pre-loaded), and come with an installation cd for macs

hi david

it could many things for example, theres a wireless usb device like this(http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores… plugs into any spare usb port and you can connect wirelessly to the internet(as long as you have a wireless router)

then theres a wireless pci card that fits into your desktop p.c and connects in the same way as a usb wireless device,it looks like this(http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Periphera… has the added advantage of being permanently attached to your p.c

then theres a pcmcia wireless notebook card like this(http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores… are normally used in laptops but can also be used in desktops with compatible slots

these are the wireless connections, then theres the wired connections like the ethernet(also known as the rj-45 and network cable),it looks like this(http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores… come in many types such as cat3 crossover and patch

then theres usb wired connection(http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores… this isnt the ideal type of connection as you need to install specific drivers to run it

then you finally have the really new 3g mobile world wide web connection which connects to the internet via the mobile phone network, its quite slow (up to 3meg) and is very expensive(£20 for a 3gig download limit and £15 for each gigabyte over)

you’ll need a mobile 3g modem like this(http://www.three.co.uk/personal/products…

any problems let me know

good luck david !
