I am considering upgrading my desktop to a Gateway 6000 , and I was wondering if it could run Call of Duty 4… Here's the link to the specific one I am looking to buy: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?… Thanks!
Answer:
That rig looks pretty sweet. The only thing wrong with it is the video card.
There actually is such thing as an external usb video card, but I doubt it'd run call of duty 4:

Upgrading a video card is a pretty simple process, I recommend one of these for call of duty 4:
$130

or $85:

The first one is better, but the second one is pretty decent.
I'm currently using the second card and it runs call of duty 4 no problem.
Answer:
not very good.
culprit:
NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE graphics with up to 128MB shared video memory
however, if you got that computer and upgraded its graphics card to something like a 9600 GT, it will be able to play COD4 on maxed out settings.
Answer:
The graphics card is pretty pathetic, it may run it at low res. If you want to play it well, you need a much better video card.
Answer:
looking over the technical details of that pc, the video memory is coming from the ram not even dedicated graphical memory so the graphics on the game will be need to run a low-medium, so i would advise investing in a dedicated graphics card
Answer:
No it cannot. That computer only has a NVIDIA GeForce 6150 as a video card. The minimum requirements for Call fo Duty 4 require a NVIDIA GeForce 6600 to play the game. However, the computer's other specifications are good enough for the game. If you upgraded that computer's video card, then you would be able to play Call of Duty 4.
Answer:
The graphics card sucks! the rest is pretty good. There isnt really a way to upgrade the graphics card without opening the case but if you wanted to you could give it to a computer repair shop and they'll install it for you. Alternatively, install it yourself. Its really easy and all graphics cards come with installation instructions.
Having a free pci-expressx16 slot, i recommend the nVidia 8800GT if you wanna get a good card. In my opinion, this card gives the best bang for your buck. Of course you COULD get a better card than that one but it starts to get real expensive from the 8800GT and up.
Sticking an 8800GT in your machine would allow you to play Call of Duty 4 on high setting with high resolution and the game would run smooth as silk.
