I have this personal a ACER Aspire X1200 and it came with this cord that is thin and looks exactly like a telephone cord.
What is it for?
It plugs in the back of it where it says “line”.
Thank you in advance!
Answer:
well if its the same size as a telephone cord its probably an rj11 connector with phone cord used for dsl or if your still stuck in the 56k days! If the tip is bigger then a regular phone cord tip its a Cat5 cable or also known as a ethernet cable so you can connect into the web!
Answer:
Robert is right, I'm sure. It will be a cable with RJ11 plugs at either end.
DSL modems are broadband modems and the cable used to plug them into the wall socket is RJ11 at both ends. The “line” socket coming out of your computer is from either an onboard dial-up modem or an installed dial-up modem card. The cable used to plug a dial-up modem into the wall socket also needs to be RJ11 at both ends.
The cable used to plug a computer into a broadband modem (if USB isn't being used) is an ethernet plug, the cable is usually blue or red and the plug ends are both more massive than RJ11 - they are RJ45 plugs.
Computer <--> RJ45 <--> broadband modem <--> RJ11 <--> wall

Personal with internal dial-up modem <--> RJ11<--> wall socket
Answer:
it's either a telephone cord or an ethernet cord, used for wired world wide web connectivity. One end will plug into the wall or a router and the other end will plug into your network adapter.
Answer:
It sounds like a modem cable? Does the other end plug into the same port on the wall as your home telephone does? Book Mark it-> del.icio.us | Reddit | Slashdot | Digg | Facebook | Technorati | Google | StumbleUpon | Window Live | Tailrank | Furl | Netscape | Yahoo | BlinkList
