plugs are plugged in. volume all the way up. no sound. the troubleshooting option didn't help. when i go to the control panel and open the sounds, speech, and audio devices it says, “no audio device”. just 30 minutes earlier my girl was on the cpu and she said she had sound. the cpu was turned off and i turned it back on and now no sound. any help is greatly appreciated.


Answer:
You obviously had a case of dead squirrels. You did not feed your squirrels, therefore they couldn’t run the wheel that powers your sound card in the PC.

Make sure you keep feeding the other animals in your system - like the hamster that runs your hard drive motor, and the gerbil that ejects your CD's.

With Windows XP goto Start–>Control Panel–>System–>Hardware–>Device Manager.

Then goto Sound, Video, and Game controllers and look there. Does anything have an X on it? Or is there anything that says something like unknown anywhere on that screen?


Answer:
It could be many things. Is this WIndows XP? VISTA? MAC OS?

Restart the computer

Try updating your audio driver. Maybe thats the problem. Mine was realtek and I updated it. That resolved my issue.
