Can you help me with the problem I am having with my ’switch between screens’ icon at the bottom of my screen

Let me see if I can explain it:

When I click this icon to go straight to my desktop without having to close all windows all that happens is the windows I have up AND my desktop window just seem to fly from the screen and stop in suspended animation in the middle of the screen.

I get them all back up by clicking on-screen again but it is annoying because the only way I have the ability to get to my desktop is to minimise all active windows.

Do a right click atop that current icon and choose Delete to send it to the Trash Can….. Now, here’s how you can MANUALLY create the “Show Desktop” icon.

Open Notepad and enter the following text just as it appears (do a copy and paste from below is the simple way….<>..):

[Shell]

Command=2

IconFile=explorer.exe,3

[Taskbar]

Command=ToggleDesktop

Save the new file as Show Desktop.scf then drag and drop the icon on the Swift Launch bar or whatever location you want the shortcut to appear.

That gives you a new Quick Launch area Show Desktop icon and the corrupt one is gone……..
