Can a computer turn off on its own?

i need to know how to make my computer turn off automatically without me doing it. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!☺

go to the control panel and click scheduled tasks. add a task and browse to C:/windows/system32 and choose shutdown. tell it when and it will automatically shut down.

When is this happening? Are you opening a specific program? Are you leaving the computer alone for a while? Does it just happen spiratically?

It could be from automatic updates, your computer going to sleep, or a virus.

I know you can make it go to sleep after a certain amount of time, but I don't think you can make it turn competely off.

If you go to Control Panel I'm sure you can find something there.

go to Control Panel, Click on “Display”, Click on “Screen Saver” then click on the “Power Button” then select the time out for when you want your monitor and had disk to shut down..
