Why does my computer not turn off when I turn it off!?

I get a box which says

END PROGRAM - WMS IDLE

"Ending pogram - Please wait"

but no amount of waiting produces any result.

There is a button for "End program now"

and I have to press this before the computer will shut down

Do you have Nero installed on your PC? Try this:

Click Start -> Programs -> Nero 7 -> Tools -> Nero Scout.

On the window at the top left, Uncheck Enable Nero Scout.

Its not a serious problem..sometimes some programme may running during shut down….just click end now …..it will shutdown automatically!!!

I used to yank the plug outta the wall when my stupid XP machine would do that ALL THE TIME. That's one of the many, many reasons it's gone & I now have a Mac.

Its also a glitch in your system, I had it also. So I called my PC mfg and they talked me through the problem. Now it not happen any longer, but also have the chat saved on as an icon if ever happen again.
