so your wanting to completely erase all the information from your current hard drive and replace it with a larger 1.

do you have a windows 98 second edition cd ?
there is a ultility program in windows 98 called fdisk utility that will wipe all the current information from the hard drive.
if you take a look at the above link you will findout how to do it.

you will also need to make sure you properly ground yourself from any static electricity with an anti static wrist band.
it would also be wise to backup any files before you fully erase all the information from that hard drive.

i suggest you read all the user manuals for any program that your downloading and intend on using.
especially ultrawipe because its a dangerous program if you dont use it correctly.
if your not sure how to install a new hard drive visit your local computer shop for help dont do it if your not 100% sure.

you can't do it from inside windows, so you need to do it thru MSDOS or thru windows setup………….

called reformatting….. run your Windows XP disk and it will allow you to reformat before re-installing your Windows XP again…. but you need to boot from CDROM in bios and restart your computer using the Windows CD to reformat
