stupid and then some when it comes to comps. etc… But what in the heck is the difference between a PC, Mac, Desktop??? I thought PC meant personal computer, desktop is one that sits on a desk ( quit laughing!) and that Mac is short for MacIntosh!! How far wrong am I and is there any free sites to learn simple instructions for computing??? And about computers??? I have two comps. but only one hooked up and both have given me so many headaches that I am ready to sell both of them! But wouldn't even know how to advertise them for sale since I obviously don't have any clues as to what the differences are in the above types!! Thanks for any help and please Be Kind (please?)
Answer:
Mac comes from the word Macintosh created by Apple. it is also called a "computer". while the word PC is Personal Computer mostly created from Microsoft Windows. so in short the operating system is different with Mac and Windows.
Desktop is kinda the type of computer you are using that has desk (or like a desk) to hold the screen of your computer and accompanied with a box where all your hard disk are equipped. while the laptop is a computer which is a handy one, can be brought wherever you want. just like saying "notebook" also. all of these stuffs are computers but as i said in different types. this is a very simple explanation already for you to have a little knowledge about computer.
