Port Forwarding on a router?

Thing is that i have to open specific ports on my router in order to change my NAt type from “moderate” to open on xbox live. Now i know how to do that and which ports i need to open but i have no idea what a PORT START or PORT END is?? and i need to know in order to configure the router

The begin port and the end port refers to the range of ports that you want to open. If you only want to open one port, then you would type in the same port in the start port box, and the end port box. But if you want to open ports 80-82, for example, then you would type in 80 as the begin port, and 82 as the end port.

Ports are numbers, right?

If you have a range, then START is the beginning of the range (although I might note it's extremely self explanatory..) and end is the end of the range.

If you just need a specific port, put the same number in both boxes.
