I recently cleaned out my Windows Vista via reinstallation CD, but now it cannot detect wireless connections (unlike before I cleaned it, when it could). The Wi-Fi icon is lit, but it doesn't seem to be working properly… Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

You need to reinstall the Network Card driver.

sounds as though Vista has not installed the wireless cards driver if you dont have a drivers cd you need to download from the manufactuers website easiest way is to use the wired connection on the laptop to do this
