I have the original game, But I lost the original key code to activate it, so I got on the web, and I found this one site with some key codes I know this is wrong but I wanted to play it, and I used one, and it installed perfectly the game, but it's only Single Player game, when I try to use the Mutiplayer game online where you don't need the disc to play, and play against people it don't work it says key code already in use please try again later all the time, I tried others on that same site, and they all say in use even the ones that say 100% working on the internet.
What can I do here, My nephew likes this game, and it was orginally his he wanted me to fix it up for him on my personal, since he has it on xbox he got it from a friend, and he don't have the key code no more his friend, so he asked me to get it off the web, and he always wants to play multiplayer but none of them work on that does anyone have a key code they can lend me or something. here or what can i do to get by with this?

without the original key your pretty much out of luck. any time you connect to the server, it cross checks things like your IP and key code to prevent piracy.
your only option would be to reinstall the game on the original computer and hope that when it was uninstalled originally the key was left in the registry. you can test this by trying to play online, or if it never asks you for the key you know its still there.
if your successful in the first step then you need to search the registry and …hope… that its stored there unencrypted and you can find it.

go to start, run, and type regedit
press F3 to bring up the find tool
type “call of duty” “call of duty key code” “Modern warfare registration” or something along those lines.
youll have to search through a lot of values before you …might… find it.
you might also try going to a call of duty forum and posing the same question. they probably have better insight as to where the key is stored.
