I don't know where and how to get my username and password to login to the website to get my WPA. 192.168.1.1 is the website I am trying to log into. I have a linksys router.

Answer:
OK, let's get this straight:

1. I assume you're speaking about the WPA encryption key on a router.

2. You don't “get” the WPA key. You’ve to set it up on the router, then provide the same key to the computer so it can access the router via wireless.

3. The IP address isn't a website. That's the address for the web interface on your router. This is just a method of accessing the configuration page of the router using a web browser.

4. The usedname and password for the internet config page is in the router's owner's manual. The manufacturers of the various routers set it up using a default. The username is usually something like “root”, “admin” or “administrator.” The password might be blank, the word “password” or the same as the user name. You need to refer to the manual for your specific model.

5. If you don't have a manual, visit the manufacturer's web site. They will have it there, available for download.

6. if this isn't a new router (i.e., one you bought used or from a friend), the previous owner might have changed the username and password. If this is the case, you need to reset them. Most routers have a small reset button in a little hole, usually on the back panel (near the connections) or on the bottom. You’ve power up the router and push in that button with a paper clip or a small pointed object that fits in the hole. Hold the button for about ten seconds, and the router will be reset to the factory defaults.

7. After you configure the router, CHANGE THE PASSWORD. You can also add or change the username, but make sure you CHANGE THE MAIN PASSWORD, since they're simple to guess and will allow someone to crack into your router.

8. Follow the manual instructions for setting up WPA encryption.

Answer:
