There would appear to be some difference of opinion on this issue.

I have a btinternet email address - although I now am with virgin media.

I changed server two years ago when my BT broadband failed. At that time I was granted to keep my btinternet address for a nominal fee - if I recall it was about £1 a month.

This fee has not been collected now for some time - but I still have that address.

Recommend you contact BT

Michael

Answer:
I'd expect you to loose your BT email address on leaving (ceasing to pay for the BT service.

AFAIK BT email isn’t free, unlike th eweb mail of Google & Yahoo. yes you can use webmail to access BT main, but you can also use a client like Outlook… for client email you have to pay on Yahoo.

ideal thing to do is to clarify it with BT tech support…. they should be abel to give you a definitive answer before its too late

Answer:
Yes i would say so. I had Sky Broadband and I lost email address and all my emails as your no longer with that service provider because you’ve canceled your service with them. If there are important emails I suggest you create a free email address such as hotmail or yahoo and forward them over, this is what i did.

Answer:
Yes I'm afraid you will. Your new supplier will give a new address.

EDIT: Well, given Janchura's answer, I guess it depends on who you are moving to.

Answer:
I wouldn't think so

You can sign into your BT e-mails from any home page

and certainly you can do it from Yahoo is that's your home page

You can also set it up to receive your BT e-mails into any other

e-mail account

Answer:
No, i moved from BT to virgin and they told me i still can use the bt email address.

Answer:
If you're in doubt…..create a HOTMAIL address…..and forward your e-mails etc. before you cancel your BTaccount

Answer:
i am not inalily sure however i think you would :)
