I’ve a Linksys Wireless-B PCI Adapter (Model WMP11) and I went on linksys.com to find the most recent drivers on it. I wasn't sure whether or not I needed to update the drivers on it, but I've been having an issue. My Wireless-B PCI Adapter is working fine according to Device Manager. I have the ability to see my network from my other personal but when I try and connect to it my computer restarts. Once I log back in I get a notification that I've recovered from a fatal error, so I figured maybe I should try and update the driver.
I downloaded the driver files and they are on my desktop as a compressed .rar file. What am I supposed to do with it now?
Answer:
You need to see what the RAR file contains (i.e. via WinRAR or 7-zip) before you can determine what to do next. Ideally, part of the package would be a README file or some such containing installation instructions. I'm surprised the instructions weren't readable at the download site, unless you downloaded the drivers from a site other than the adapter manufacturer's. If so, proceed with caution. In the end, you'll probably wind up working with Device Manager and using the 'Update Driver' button.
Answer:
yep ideal idea is to update since it'll add more features….fix other ones and overall make the card run faster….
so….
get WinRAR and install…
http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar38b3.exe
then right click on the downloaded .rar and extract to /
then it should give you an .exe file to run ^_^
Answer:
No idea what to do with a .rar file…what OS is this, maybe that'll help.
Windows you just download the self-installing EXE and it does the rest…
Answer:
download a program called winrar and then open the driver file..basically winrar is like winzip..a compression tool….using winrar will decompress it and allow you to access all the files..cheers Book Mark it-> del.icio.us | Reddit | Slashdot | Digg | Facebook | Technorati | Google | StumbleUpon | Window Live | Tailrank | Furl | Netscape | Yahoo | BlinkList
