Hey
I just bought the bt1800hg wireless router. Tried to connect it today but couldnt get it to work. It picks up the wireless connection to my laptop but wont pick up the connection to the broadband from the phone line. The local network light comes up green, but the broadband light starts of flashing green then turns to constant orange.
Could you please help?
Thanks

Did you put a filter in each phone wall socket ?
Answer:
Take it out and plug it back in.
Answer:
Consault the manual the router came with. if that dosent help, then phone them up, if you ask you shouldent get charged for the call considering its a fault with there system.
Answer:
The last time I had the problem there was an ip address conflict with the wireless router and the dsl modem both were trying to use the same ip address. This was with a Linksys wireless router and Bell South's modem. Call your provider.
Answer:
first of all if u have the old modem u were using before try connecting it and check if internet is working fine…..and if yes call the people whom u got the bt1800hg wireless router from they should sort it out for u.

I have an 1800 hg. Cracking gadget - never gave a moment's trouble, dead easy to set up.
But it's not a current device - did you buy it second-hand? Could it be duff? Test your broadband with a box known to be good, then swap back. Don't forget to set the 1800hg to your broadband provider's network logon details (make an Ethernet connection between PC and the 1800hg, then on your pc, point a browser at the 1800hg's IP address - mine's on 192.168.1.254 - go to Broadband Link/Advanced Settings).
Also, don't forget the usual stuff about bypassing your internal wiring - try connecting to broadband via the test socket in your master phone socket.
