NETWORKING HELP PLEASE plz?

hi im trying to connect 2 buildings together to form a LAN network. the buildings are 1KM away from eachother.

each building has several floors and several computers.

Would i connect them using fibre optic cable?

How would i connect them all together to share files

Any help would be appreaciated

Cat5e cables; get a huge roll of 1,000 foot Cat5e cables and run them to one switch; each place in a building there's a computer you want in the network you'd have to drop down that cable to, crimp and put the jack on the end and you're done. Wish you lived in NY heh I do this for a living, I would;ve helped.

You have not mentioned that is there any heavy traffic between these two. But i think you may try wireless networking.

You need to connect the two buildings with fibre.

Within the building again if the distance is more than 100mts you need to use fibre to connect between floors. Otherwise you can you copper.

Do not "get a huge roll of 1,000 foot Cat5e cable" That is the wrong answer because it violates distance limitations of Ethernet. The question asked about LAN connectivity, not WAN.

Instead, use fiber as mentioned, or investigate some wireless or optical bridges. Probably least cost to use a wireless bridge.

Works well with line of sight between both buildings.
