i have a netgear wgt624 108 mbps wireless router. the router is hard wired to modem and main pc and my second pc uses the wireless usb adapter. after doin speed tests on both pcs my second pc is 100mbps faster than my main pc. any reason for this? as i would like my main pc to have the better net speed.
Answer:
It may be that your PC's have different registry settings. Check out http://www.broadbandreports.com/ . They have speed tests and tweak tests that can tell you what you can do to speed up your internet connection.
Answer:
The network speed configuration on your slow PC made not be configured correctly. Check to make sure that you are setup for 100/FD.
Answer:
I've just bought a new laptop and it's faster on wireless at the bottom of my gardeen than my upstairs computer that is linked by ethernet cable! Part of this can be the settings but it's also possible that the software and especially the hardware and wireless card on ur second computer is just…better!
