Yesterday I could connect to the internet without any problem but now when I want to connect it say :The modem or other connecting device is already in use or is not configured properly.
What is wrong with it?
Answer:
This problem is mostly with a Dial-Up Connection…so I presume that it is a Dial Up Connection…..
This is a problem with the modem not able to dial out.
Restart the computer ( I am sure you have already tried it)..
First step is to power drain the modem ( if External Modem).
If these two generic stings dont work then goto the following link and select the Company and Model and write the init String and then restart the comp.
This should help
http://www.modemhelp.net/stringlist.shtm…
if there is an error message while you are trying to connect
goto the following website
http://va.zensupport.co.uk/
and on the left click on DUN & OE Error Codes and then click on the error number that you are getting . it will give you the resolution:
Try this before you call Technical Support of your ISP.
They will do the same steps and if nothing is working out, they will refer you the the Modem manufacturer…..( I know that because for 3 years, Ive been a Tech Support Officer for Different ISPs…
any other question on Internet connection problems.. dont hesitate to ask..
Cheers
if that is not successful then try shutting down the computer and power draining it.
If still nothing going your way then ( I assume you have Win Xp)
Start >> Control Pannel >>Phone and Modems >>Modems Tab >> Highlight the name of the modem that you think is the right one >> click on Properties>> goto Advanced Tab >>
There is a box" Extra Init Settings" >> it should be blank…
Try this command in the box " AT&FX" and then restart the comp, if this does not work try "ATZ" and then restart the comp

Answer:
» In addition to the above, Make sure your Cproxy malware hasnt returned. (From looking at your past questions it looks like it may of) Run some anti-spyware software making sure you do a full scan.
» If it exists, Check to make sure the CPROXY.exe file doesn't reside in your windows folder. Also make sure bnm.dll isnt within your windows\system32 folder.
» You may need to run an LSPfix to repair part of your TCP/IP connection:
head over to : http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm and download the program
Run it and see if it identifies a problem on your laptop. If it does it will provide an option to fix it.
Hope this helps, (we'll get you sorted yet baby girl lol)
